INTRO TO ACTING
AGES 8-13 | TUESDAYS AT 6PM
Starts August 17th
Registration Fee: $150
A six week program for students who are interested in acting in theatre, but aren’t ready to commit to a production. This class gives the basics on movement, projection, character analysis, and expectations of an actor in theatre. Students will be given a monologue to work on during the course to explore a character through text. This class is low pressure, and provides a safe space to explore acting for theatre.
ACTING FOR
INTERMEDIATES
AGES 10-15 | TUESDAYS AT 7PM
Starts August 17th
Registration Fee: $150
A six week program for the intermediate actor looking to be introduced into the detailed work of finding your character. Students will be challenged to cold read from numerous scripts with their peers and analyze how the text contributes to their character. Students will be given a monologue to study during the duration of the session, and will perform their monologue the final week of class.
ACTING FOR THE
SEASONED ACTOR
AGES 13+ | WEDNESDAYS AT 6PM
Starts August 18th
Registration Fee: $150
A 6 week program for the advanced actor looking to dive into the detailed work of finding your character and applying it to text. Students will be given script sides weekly and will analyze the characters within the scene and how to apply the information to their performance. This class is for the seasoned actor who wants to practice their craft.
TABLE READ COURSE
AGES 13+ | WEDNESDAYS AT 7PM
Starts August 18th
Registration Fee: $150
This is a 6 week program for the actor who wants to read scripts with their peers in real time. Students will be given a script in class and will be assigned different (sometime multiple) roles to read each week. Students will be practicing cold reading each week to gain comfort in reading, speaking and exploring in front of their peers.

Looking to exercise your craft, but need a little guidance? Are you trying to find your character types but are looking for more direction? Whether you’re preparing to audition for a show, these hour a week lessons will provide guidance with your monologues, character inquiries, and those lines you’re just not connecting with.

Do you have an audition you’re preparing for? Are you in a show and need to bounce character ideas off of somebody who’s crazy about theatre? Drop on in! We’ll go over the monologue at hand, and we’ll analyze your character choices and see where there’s room for improvement.
Meet your instructor
Lizzy Wanamaker is a local theatre nerd and has been in the Sacramento theatre scene for 20 years on many different stages. From the Vencil Brown Elementary School stage to dancing and belting an original works musical on the rooftop of the Warehouse Artist Lofts in downtown Sacramento. Lizzy has had an extensive career as an actor and as a stage manager at theatres like Rocklin Community Theatre and Sacramento Theatre Company. Wanting to share the last 20 years of character development, producing, and stage knowledge with others – she decided to start CreativeCourses.org sharing everything she has learned from her time on stage and backstage. Lizzy can always be found at home snuggling her pups, belting her face off at the piano, and enjoying scripts – new works and classics!
